When Zerubbabel was rebuilding the Temple in Jerusalem, he was plagued with delays, people trying to stop him, and all sorts of attacks.
Have you ever had a dream but it seemed as if every where you turned you were running into walls or even mountains that stood in your way? That is so discouraging isn’t it. This is the time that you might be asking yourself if this was really the dream you should have been pursuing? Doubt, discouragement, and frustration creep in when you are up against insurmountable odds.
Zerubbabel faced these problems for 10 years! Then God sent someone to him to give him the exact word he needed that would unleash God’s power onto the scene.
God is always wanting to add His “super” onto your “natural.”
What are you, great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain. And he will bring out the capstone accompanied by shouts of: Grace, grace to it! Zechariah 4:7
This was the word of God and that was all Zerubbabel needed to change his situation and his life. He was instructed to get the capstone.
What is the capstone? It is the final stone that represents the work is finished. Jesus is our capstone and we are to rely on His finished work for our good success!
So what is something we can learn from this verse? First, find something that represents the successful completion of the dream that you are believing God for. Maybe it is a picture or a set of plans, or something that represents the dream that God put in your heart. This will be your capstone.
Whatever you do, get your capstone right now! By getting the capstone and keeping it in front of him, Zerubbabel was keeping the end in mind for those times when he would get discouraged to remind Himself that God is still on the throne and He will finish what He started in you!
We are made in the image of God and He is a creative being, He is “…the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.” (Romans 4:17)
The greatest power that we have is the ability to direct our minds to whatever means that we desire. But if we do not take possession of our minds and keep them pointed into God’s word… meditating on it day and night… then thoughts of doubt, fear, and anxiety can creep in.
When this happens, remember that you are a prisoner of hope and turn back to Jesus your redeemer!
Turn to the strong hold, you who are prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto you; (Zechariah 9:12)
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he… (Proverbs 23:7)
God wants you to think in line with His word. He wants you to know that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. You are a child of the most high God and His favor surrounds you as a shield, and because of Jesus’ finished work, everything you do will prosper and succeed!
The second thing for us is that God wants us to use our mouths to create just as He created! He wants us to shout “Grace, Grace” to our obstacles and dreams alike! Grace is the unearned, undeserved, and unmerited favor of God that we can have full assurance of receiving when we rely on the finished work of Jesus. When we “let go and let God” we are in a position to rely on His unmerited favor which will turn everything around for His glory in and through us!
The bottom line is that you need to get your capstone before you—you must put in the forefront of your mind the finished work of Christ and see yourself complete in Him. From this mindset, shout “grace” to your mountains. Then you can stand still and see this great thing that the Lord will do before your eyes! (1 Samuel 12:16)
Get your capstone for your health.
Get your capstone for your marriage.
Get your capstone for your family.
Get your capstone for your business.
God will open the door you need in your valley!
You can have that desire in your heart and God has created you for greatness. I believe that God put a message inside you that only you can deliver. I also believe that there are people in this world who are waiting earnestly to hear that message delivered by you. By giving away your message, you will receive abundantly!
With your capstone in view, begin to shout, “Grace, grace” unto it. Claim the promise that belongs to the Son. You are His child, and Christ’s finished work and His over abundant grace are yours by faith!
